WC Votes is a project of Winning Connections, Inc. ("WC Votes," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through this website and the WC Votes text message program, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us when you fill out our sign-up form: your name, email address, ZIP code and mobile phone number, and whether you checked the box to receive text messages.
A record of your consent: the date and time you opted in to texts, the opt-in language shown to you, and the page where you signed up.
Your replies to the text messages we send, including what you tell us about your experience voting.
Basic technical information that browsers send to every website, such as browser type and the date and time of your visit.

This website does not use advertising trackers and does not set cookies.

How we use your information

To send you the text messages you signed up for: questions about your experience voting, and alerts about changes to the voting process.
To understand and report on voters' experiences, in summary form that does not identify you.
To respond when you contact us or reply HELP.
To keep records of consent and opt-outs, and to comply with the law and with wireless carrier requirements.

We do not use WC Votes text messages to ask for donations.

Text messaging data

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party, except: (1) with vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (and who will not use such information for their own purposes); and (2) if we believe disclosure is required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation, or to comply with law enforcement or legal process.

We do not sell or rent mobile phone numbers, and we do not share them with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.

How we share other information

We may share information with vendors, consultants and other service providers who need it to carry out work on our behalf, such as the platform that delivers our text messages. We may disclose information if we believe it is required by law or legal process. We may publish or share what we learn from voters' replies in aggregate or de-identified form. We will not publish your name with anything you tell us unless you give us permission.

Your choices

Stop the texts. Reply STOP to any WC Votes message. We'll send one final message confirming that you've been unsubscribed.
Get help. Reply HELP to any message, email info@winningconnections.com or call (202) 544-5910.
See, correct or delete your information. Email us at the address above and we will respond within a reasonable time.

How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as you are signed up for WC Votes texts. After you opt out, we keep a record of your number, your original consent and your opt-out for as long as needed to honor your request and to meet our legal and carrier obligations.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Age

WC Votes is intended for people of voting age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.

Text messaging terms

Program: WC Votes text alerts, operated by Winning Connections, Inc.
What we send: questions about your experience voting, and alerts about changes to the voting process resulting from federal action. Donations will not be asked.
How to join: enter your mobile number and check the opt-in box on our sign-up form. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
Frequency: message frequency varies. Expect more messages close to an election.
Cost: WC Votes does not charge for texts. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
Opt out: text STOP to unsubscribe at any time.

Carriers: wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
